This is the Weather.com warning attached to Waco right now...
DANGEROUS SUMMER HEAT IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE INTO MONDAY WITH LATE AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURES EXPECTED TO RANGE BETWEEN 101 AND 106 DEGREES. THESE HOT TEMPERATURES COMBINED WITH THE HUMIDITY WILL PRODUCE HEAT INDEX VALUES BETWEEN 105 AND 110 DEGREES DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON. IN ADDITION...LOW TEMPERATURES TONIGHT WILL ONLY FALL INTO THE MID TO UPPER 70S...PROVIDING LITTLE RECOVERY TIME FROM THE HOT WEATHER.
PERSONS INVOLVED IN ANY OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES ARE URGED TO TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. WEAR LOOSE FITTING AND LIGHT COLORED CLOTHING. BE SURE TO CHECK ON PERSONS WITH HEALTH PROBLEMS AND THE ELDERLY... AS THEY ARE THE MOST SUSCEPTIBLE TO HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE.
NEVER LEAVE PEOPLE OR PETS IN AN ENCLOSED VEHICLE...EVEN FOR A SHORT TIME...AS TEMPERATURES CAN QUICKLY RISE TO LIFE THREATENING LEVELS IN JUST A FEW MINUTES!!
